pharmacological actions
1. Relieving cough and expectorant
Luohanguo extract has the obvious function of restrain the cough lead by strong ammonia or sulfur dioxide, could strong the phenol red secretion from trachea in small mice and expectorant of big mice.
2. Immunity
Luohanguo extract has a certain influence to the normal big mice, it could increase the percentage of peripheral blood lymphocyte acid -naphthyl acetate esterase (ANAE) masculine lymph cell and EPF-R. Mogroside has not showed big influence on the normal small rice, but could increase obviously the immunity of CTX, restrain macrophage phagocytosis of mice and T cells multiplication.
3 .Lower the blood sugar
Luohanguo powder and its extract has no influence onto the normal small mice on weight, blood sugar and Sugar Tolerance, but could prevention and cure the high blood sugar of alloxan diabetic mice, and have the Dose-effect Relation [22]. Mogroside has the obvious function of lower blood sugar of alloxan diabetic mice, prevention and cure the abnormity increased of serum triglyceride, serem cholesterol, could increase serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol, and promote the blood lipid to the normal, prevent the disturbance of lipid metabolism lead by diabetics, also could prevent and cure the syndrome of diabetics. It could lower the lipid peroxidation in liver, increase the antioxidant enzyme systems activity, help to resume the ability of antioxidant in liver, hint this should be the mechanism of lower blood.
4 .Liver Protective
Luohanguo extract has the obvious liver protective and lower the enzyme function according to the small mice with liver damage lead by CCL4
5 .Anti-cancer
In vitro experimental study, it is found that the mogroside has the same effect or even stronger compare with the stevioside which postpone the cancer.
6 .Influence to The stomach and intestine
Luohanguo extract has the Bidirectional adjusting effect toward the Isolated Intestinal Canal of small mice and rabbit, the luohanguo extract is not only strong the isolated intestinal canals own activity of small mice and rabbit, but also resist the shrink of intestinal canal lead by barium chloride acetylcholine, also resist the intestinal canals flab lead by adrenaline, resume the intestinal canals actitivy.
7. Restrain dental caries lead by ingbritt
LIHAIBIN [26] in order to identify the function of dental caries of the glucose and fructose in the structure, in the experiment, make two groups as glucose, fructose team and luohanguo extract team to compare. The result showed that the luohanguo extract could restrain the ingbritts growing, acid production and glass conglutinate, it showed obviously that it is lower than the glucose and fructose team. it is obvious that the influence to the ingbritts growing in the glucose and fructose in the luohanguo extract is different from the dissociate glucose and fructose.
8 Antioxidant
Luohanguo extract has the strong antioxidant activity, could effectively scavenger of free radicals, reduce the probability of hemolsis of red cells and form of MDA, Luohanguo extract is the main antioxidant ingredient in the extract.
